The Omni pulleys - along with several popular Rock Exotica products, share a common purpose: making rigging shorter. By way of a design that combines a pulley and swivel together without the need of a carabiner, the Omni pulley greatly shortens the length of rigging, or "headspace" required for an equivalent configuration.
Whether it's indoor rigging that's limited to widths and heights of walls and ceilings, or the valuable working area underneath the head of an artificial high directional, the Omni helps maximize this precious working space.
To open the Omni sideplate, the user pushes the button and rotates the sideplate. A safety catch stops the sideplate from rotating completely open until the button is pushed a second time. The sideplate is easily closed by squeezing the sideplate into the body of the pulley. Two loud clicks are heard as the sideplate pushes past the button to close securely against the body of the pulley.
HOW IT'S MADE
The Omni Swivel Pulley is made the same unique way that many of Rock Exotica products are made—from solid material. The design and function of the pulley require a strong core from which the sheaves, side plates, and swivel top must connect. For this we rely on the capability of our state of the art machining centers to take a solid block of aluminum and cut away material to create this integral part.
With precision available only on such a machine, the block of aluminum is transformed into an axle, head piece, becket, and release button housing all in one. The result is a pulley that is lighter, stronger, and more compact than those made by traditional methods and stamped parts.
